Petstock warehouse image

Here at Konverge, we take pride in turning challenges into opportunities. We recently had the pleasure of teaming up with our valued customers at Petstock Group to bring their vision of seamless connectivity in their warehouse to life, no matter how tall those racks were! 📶

Let's dive into how we partnered with Cisco Meraki to cook up a state-of-the-art solution that not only gets the job done but does it with competitive pricing and the added bonus of Cisco financing for a hassle-free experience. 🚀

The Challenge

Varied Heights, Uniform Connectivity

Petstock Group's warehouse posed a unique challenge - with racking systems of varying heights, and therefore they needed to ensure consistent wireless connectivity across all levels. Traditional WiFi solutions often struggled to penetrate these structures effectively, leading to connectivity gaps and operational inefficiencies.

Step 1: The Wireless Survey & Design

We conducted a comprehensive wireless site survey. We meticulously analysed the warehouse layout, racking configurations, and potential sources of interference. The goal was to develop a customised wireless network design that could adapt to the changing landscape of their facility.

Step 2: Partnering with Cisco Meraki

Cisco Meraki was the perfect partner for this project. Their advanced access points (APs) offered the scalability, flexibility, and reliability needed to conquer the challenging environment of the warehouse. We tailored the solution to incorporate a mix of Meraki's latest APs, ensuring seamless coverage at every height.

Step 3: Competitive Pricing & Cisco Financing

Cost-efficiency was key, and thanks to our tight partnership with Cisco Financial Services, we were able to serve up competitive pricing options. Cisco financing ensured that Petstock Group could embark on this transformational journey without any financial constraints, and they could see the return on their investment quickly.

Step 4: Delivery and Equipment Escalation

With our solution in hand, we took charge of the delivery and equipment escalation. Our experts strategically positioned each AP, making sure the WiFi signal was strong and minimised from interference. The setup process was a breeze, and the Petstock warehouse was soon buzzing with a new level of connectivity.

The Results: The Power of Unleashed Connectivity

Today, our client enjoys the following benefits:

Uniform Connectivity

From ground level to the highest racks, WiFi connectivity is consistent, ensuring no dead zones and uninterrupted operations.

Enhanced Efficiency

With the new network, their team experiences improved productivity and accuracy in day-to-day tasks, from inventory management to order fulfillment.

Scalability

The solution's scalability means it can adapt to the changing needs of the warehouse, accommodating future growth effortlessly.

Peace of Mind

Cisco Meraki's reputation for reliability ensures our client can focus on their business, knowing their wireless infrastructure is dependable.

Wireless Site Survey benefits

Optimal Coverage

By analysing the physical layout of the area, the survey helps determine the ideal locations for access points (APs) to ensure comprehensive coverage without signal dead zones

Improved Performance

A site survey helps identify potential sources of interference and Radio Frequency (RF) congestion, allowing for the selection of the best wireless channels and configurations to optimize network performance.

Capacity Planning

It helps assess the number of devices and users the network needs to support, ensuring that it can handle the expected load without degradation in performance.

Cost Efficiency

By accurately planning the placement and number of APs required, businesses can avoid overprovisioning or under provisioning their wireless network, leading to cost savings in equipment and maintenance.

Better Security

Site surveys can identify areas where the wireless signal might leak outside the intended coverage area, helping to enhance security by reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Seamless Roaming

A well-designed wireless network with strategically placed APs ensures seamless roaming for mobile devices, allowing them to switch between APs without interruptions.

Minimised Interference

Site surveys help in identifying and mitigating sources of interference, such as neighbouring networks or electronic devices, which can negatively impact network performance.

Regulatory Compliance

In some industries, like healthcare or finance, compliance with regulatory standards for wireless network security and performance is crucial. Site surveys can help ensure compliance with these standards.

Troubleshooting

When issues arise with the wireless network, the information gathered during the site survey can serve as a valuable reference for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.

Scalability

Businesses can use the results of the site survey as a foundation for scaling their wireless network as the organization grows, ensuring that it remains efficient and effective.

User Satisfaction

A well-designed and optimized wireless network leads to better user experiences, higher productivity, and increased satisfaction among employees, guests, or customers.

Future-Proofing

As technology evolves, the initial site survey data can be used as a baseline to make future upgrades and improvements to the wireless network, keeping it up-to-date with changing requirements.

Overall, conducting a wireless site survey is a proactive approach to ensure that your wireless network is reliable, efficient, and capable of meeting the demands of your users and applications while minimizing potential issues and disruptions.

Leasing IT equipment Benefits

Conservation of Capital

Leasing allows businesses to conserve their capital and allocate it to other strategic initiatives. Instead of making a large upfront investment in IT equipment, you can pay for the equipment on a monthly or periodic basis.

Predictable Budgeting

IT equipment leases typically come with fixed monthly payments, making it easier to budget and forecast IT expenses. This predictability can help businesses manage their cash flow effectively.

Access to Latest Technology

Leasing allows businesses to access and deploy the latest and most advanced IT equipment without the burden of continually purchasing new hardware. This can help organizations stay competitive and technologically up-to-date.

Flexibility

Lease terms can be tailored to your organization's specific needs. You can choose the lease duration, and at the end of the lease term, you typically have the option to upgrade to newer equipment, extend the lease, or purchase the equipment at a reduced price.

Tax Benefits

Depending on your location and tax laws, leasing IT equipment may offer potential tax advantages. Lease payments are often tax-deductible as a business expense, which can reduce your overall tax liability.

Maintenance and Support

Many IT equipment leases include maintenance and support services, ensuring that your equipment remains operational and minimizing downtime. This can be especially beneficial for businesses with limited IT staff or expertise.

Scalability

Leasing allows for easy scalability. As your business grows or your IT needs change, you can adjust the lease agreement to include additional equipment or upgrade to more powerful hardware.

Asset Management

Leasing can simplify asset management. The lessor often handles equipment disposal and recycling at the end of the lease term, reducing the administrative burden on your organisation.

Risk Mitigation

Leasing can help mitigate the risk of technology obsolescence. Technology evolves rapidly, and leasing allows you to adapt to these changes without being stuck with outdated equipment.

Off-Balance Sheet Financing

Depending on the accounting treatment of the lease, it may be considered an operating lease, which keeps the equipment and associated liabilities off the balance sheet. This can improve financial ratios and creditworthiness.

Quick Approval

Lease agreements are typically easier and faster to secure than loans or credit lines for IT equipment purchases. This can expedite the acquisition process and allow you to deploy equipment more quickly.

Preservation of Credit Lines

Leasing IT equipment doesn't tie up your credit lines, preserving your borrowing capacity for other business needs or emergencies.

It's important to note that the specific benefits of leasing IT equipment can vary depending on the terms of the lease agreement, the lessor, and your organisation's unique circumstances. Before entering into a lease agreement, it's advisable to carefully review the terms, including costs, obligations, and options at the end of the lease term, to ensure that it aligns with your business objectives and financial strategy.
